Together we’re going to showcase the magic of flight but this time we’re going to fly a plane with you, the passengers!

Not only can you help “Make Flight” soar by spreading the word via social media but you can also come out in person to power Ryan’s art project at a special exhibit during Art Basel Miami (December 7-9, 2012).

LAN and TAM “Make Flight” During Art Basel Miami

Renowned local installation artist Ryan Farrell tapped to create interactive experience that captures magic of flight

WHAT:                        On December 6, LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines, part of LATAM Airlines Group, South America’s largest airline group and internationally acclaimed artist Ryan Farrell will unveil “Make Flight,” an interactive art installation that captures the passion and magic of flight. The piece will be unveiled during Art Basel Miami – when 15 bicycles will power three propellers that will cause a plane sculpture to “Make Flight.” The plane’s ‘take off’ will be a regular occurrence from December 6 – 9 during Art Basel as visitors to the installation can participate in the interactive exhibit.  Make Flight is open to the public and admission is free.

Farrell, a University of Miami, MFA Alum ’11 and a South Florida College Professor, grew up with an appreciation for aviation and travel. The exhibit encompasses his three passions: bicycles, travel and all things social and captures the LATAM Airlines Group passion for aviation and flight through a visionary combination of imagination and engineering.

Visitors can help “Make Flight” by stopping by the installation, conveniently located right along the art walk in the Wynwood District at the MAPS Production House Backlot Studio and Event Space. In addition, passengers can register in the “Make Flight” sweepstakes at letsmakeflight.com for the chance to win exciting prizes from bikes like the ones used to power the installation to flights to South America’s most sought after destinations on LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines.
